  • The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in conjunction with the Bernalillo County Fire Department (BCFD) and the Bernalillo County Office of Emergency Management (BernCO OEM) will host a community meeting at the Sheriff’s East Area Command Center- James McGrane Public Safety Center on Wednesday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss each of our agency roles, responses, and responsibilities during a wildfire. This community meeting will consist of an open discussion with attendees on what the role of our respective agencies is during an evacuation and how citizens can prepare and be informed when an evacuation order related to a wildfire is issued.

    James McGrane Public Safety Complex, #48 Public School Road, Tijeras, NM

  • Seniors 50 +who are members of the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs can register for adapted aquatics classes taught at the UNM Therapeutic Pool (92 degree water). Participants will be led through a series of range of motion exercises that will increase joint mobility and develop muscular strength. Transportation from Vista Grande is provided and leaves the center at 12:20. Space is limited. Class cost is donation of $8. Register in person or over the phone at Palo Duro Sports and Fitness 880-2800 or Los Volcanes Fitness Center 839-3710 or North Domingo Baca Fitness Center at 764-6496.
