High Tea on the Bosque in Observance of Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, join BernCo in celebrating its cultural diversity this Sunday, Feb. 12 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Bachechi Open Space, 9521 Rio Grande Blvd. NW.

The afternoon will be filled with live performances, visual art and hands-on art activities for the entire family.

This free event will feature Aziza Murray, Sina Soul, Wild Humans, Ebony Booth and Quilt Lady. Refreshments and tea will be provided by Trinity’s Custom Dessert Studio.

High Tea on the Bosque is a collaboration between Burque Noir, Bernalillo County Open Space and the Bernalillo County Public Art Program.

  • Open gym basketball is available Wednesday nights and Saturday mid-mornings. The gym is open to ages 16 and up. Cost is $12 yearly membership fee. For more information, call (505) 314-0240.

  • Evening Adaptations - Presenter: Cass Landrum, Cottonwood Gulch. Join in an exploration on the senses beyond sight. Smell like a dog, hear like an owl, and learn more about your own adaptations on a short walk through Bachechi.

  • Seniors 50 +who are members of the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs can register for adapted aquatics classes taught at the UNM Therapeutic Pool (92 degree water). Participants will be led through a series of range of motion exercises that will increase joint mobility and develop muscular strength. Transportation from Vista Grande is provided and leaves the center at 12:20. Space is limited. Class cost is donation of $8.
