Register Now for Master Naturalist Program

03/03/2017

Bernalillo County Open Space is now accepting applications for the Master Naturalist Program.

The Bernalillo County Open Space Master Naturalist Program aims to instill the pursuit of lifelong learning and promote environmental stewardship. Participants are actively engaged through education and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources on Open Space properties. The program is ideal for individuals who have a love of the outdoors, curiosity of the natural environment, a desire to work with others and help support conservation measures that improve land health.

Applications are due by March 31.

Selected volunteers will experience a wide range of free classes and hands-on field experiences totaling 55 hours in June and July. Upon completion of the classes, participants will carry out a 40 hour service project on open space properties during the course of the following year.

Bernalillo County’s Open Space Program currently includes about 1,000 acres at 13 locations, from the mountains to the valley to the University of New Mexico’s North Golf Course.
